System Instability

Mike Stewart

I'm running Windows XP Home Edition, installed about a
year ago. Just a few days ago I started getting regular
uncommanded shutdowns and distorted and blurry screens. I
get an error message that says "The display driver for
NVIDIA GeForce 256 (Microsoft Corp.) seems to be
responsible for the system instability."

What's causing this and what can I do to correct it?

Thanks for your help.

Have you updated that driver recently?
If so, rollback to the previous.
If not, visit Nvidia's site and get the latest driver.
Install same.

Dont let ms update your video drivers if they are working ok. If you
want/need updated drivers for video get them from your video card makers
website or chip makers website.
