I am unable open 'System Information' in my PC . I am using windows xp sp2.
When I click on 'system Information' Microsoft Error Repoting' Box pops up
saying "Microsoft Help and Support center encountered problem and needs to
shut down. Do you want send a error report?'. Help in rectifying this problem
is much appreciated. Thanks

I would love to know the answer to this too. I have XP Pro on both my lap &
main PC. On the laptop, I get exactly the same thing & have looked every
place for "system information."

System Information is a module named MSInfo32.Exe.
You can just enter the name in the Run box and press Enter.

My Probelm is not yet fixed. On following other threads found out that this
problem could be due to the index.dat file folder C:\
Windows\PCHealth\HelpCtr\offlineCache being deleted by some program or
corrupted. I checked this folder and the index.dat is still there. Whether it
is corrupt or not I do not know. Mr. Wesley Vogel in the other thread
suggested that he can email a index.dat file to the poster of the question. I
would like to try this out. If Mr Vogel is reading this post could he please
send me the file please to '(e-mail address removed)'. Many thanks.

Mr. Sengupta, I tried the line 221 of kellys-korner solution. Didn't work.
Thanks for helping out.
