System Idle Process

I hope someone can help me please....

On Windows XP....

Since downloading a Screensaver from Disney, then subsequently deleting it -
my computer always has a large percentage of CPU dedicated to 'SYSTEM IDLE
PROCESS' on the Task Manager Processes Tab. I also can't make any otther
Screensavers work at all now, and the computer will not leave a permanently
on state.

Does anyone know how I can stop the CPU usage for System Idle process, and
make my Screensaver etc work again?

Thanks and Best Regards
Marcus

System Idle Process is exactly as it states. It is the amount of time your
computer's CPU is doing **nothing* and is waiting for you to make it work.
Ideally, it should always be a rather high number.

System Idle Process is just how much CPU you are NOT using. Higher is
better if it is supposed to be idling.

As for your other issues I am not so sure about, I do not use, and
definitely do not install any, screensavers.

Whatever is causing your problem, it is *not* System Idle Process.
That's just the name for what the system is doing when it's not doing
anything. It's there to make the total add up to 100%
