system hive issues

I have corrupted system hive issues, I have tried last good and recovery
console and registery repair tool from microsoft, nothing worked, now is it
possible that if install a fresh windows 2000 on a new hard drive and
install all the hardware and then copy the system hive from this fresh
install and copy in my original installation, will it work?
