system hangs

I have installed my Toshiba 7220 Notebook with Windows 2000
(NTFS) and now experience complete freezes of the
screen/system (it is hanging) in irregular time periods but
more or less every 2 hours. I heard it could be my PCMCIA
ethernet card from 3com that is not working properly with
Windows 2000. Is there anything I can do? Are there other
reasons? Is it necessary to reinstall... :-(?
I have already installed different new drivers for the
card, did not help.
Thanks for your valuable answer!
Cheers,
Oli

Did you upgrade frm an earlier OS, if so you might want to check all drivers
and bios via the Toshiba site
David

It could also be an overheat problem.
There are a number of temperature monitors available via shareware sites.
one of these may assist in diagnosing
