For the last few days, my system will suddenly stop responding. The mouse
will not work, keyboard is not recognised, etc. The hard drive light will
come on solid. Then just as suddenly every thing starts to work again. I
have Windows Live One Care installed and Advanced Windows Care installed, but
nothing shows up on any of their scans. How can I check to see what the
system is doing as far as the hard drive goes and what causes it to "take
over" the whole machine. I have a gig of memory and two hard drives with a
total of 350GB.

maybe your mobo is defective or you need a bios update I’m not sure what it
might be but my computer did that once and found out it was a bad power
supply or maybe your computer doesn't have a powerful power supply.

If the symptoms appear at randomly, it could be a hard drive or hard drive
drive controller problem.

Download diagnostic software from the manufacturer's website and check your
your hard drives.
