I have multiple PC's at the house. All run XP Professional, SP 2. 1 system
(Packard Bell Legend 7612) randomly stalls on me. All system activities are
suspended for like 20 seconds, and then operates normal again. Stalls are
more and more frequent. Formatted disk and re-loaded original XP already.
Also upgraded chipset and BIOS software. Can't eliminate the problem.

Time to crack open the case and look for bad capicitors. (Little soda
cans) If any are bulging or leaking, you have a bad motherboard.

Also download and run memtest86+ from www.memtest.org

And while you're at it, download and run the hard drive manufactor's
diagnostic.
