System Fonts

My operating system is ME. Four fonts, 'Small fonts', 'Courier', 'MS Sans Serif' and MS 'Serif' are all to found under 'Font' in the 'Control Panel' and are accessible in Excel but not in Word or, as it happens, Paint Shop Pro. Can anyone please help?
