System file not suitable for running MS-DOS, error pls help

When I try and run certain videos and applications I get this error.

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

Can anyone please help me?

Copy the autoexec.nt file from c:\windows\repair to c:\windows\system32

or Start>run and type cmd and copy the following

copy %SYSTEMROOT%\repair\autoexec.nt %SYSTEMROOT%\system32
