System exception: access violation

I have been suffering with this problem with FrontPage 2002 for three weeks
so far. Everytime I try to upload my web page I receive a message "System
exception: access violation" without any explanation why I am receiving this
message, or more importantly how to resolve it. I have used the "repair"
function of FP 2002, then after that did not work, uninstalled and
reinstalled the program. I even reinstalled Office XP 2002 in an attempt to
fix the problem. THis caused problems with my email settings. I had to undo
the results of that attempt to fix and used a back up in order to fix the
email settings.

I found a web site that suggested there were two identical dll's on the hard
drive. I have searched the hard drive three times and have only ever found
one at any time.

I should not have to, but I am contemplating formatting the drive and
starting over. I need someone to tell me how to fix the problem an
intelligent way.

Check your server logs (or contact you host for them)
Check any proxy/firewall settings and your Windows Events Logs

Also have you tried the usual repairs in the sequence below:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
Usually in C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp
- in FP 2003 you need to look in the super hidden folder
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
Usually in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache
3) Run a Repair on IE
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=318378 )
4) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, MS Office and your Video card
(Windows Update and Office Update sites, plus your video card supplier site)
5) Open FP and Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins,
6) Open your FP Web/Site and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

I have heard this nonsensical information before. All it did was mess up my
outlook 2002.

What seems to have done the trick, oddly enough, was I had placed a few text
to voice mp3's on a page. In my attempt to back up the page, I discovered
the whole web site was too big to fit onto one CD rom. Being that the media
player did not perform as expected, I decided to delete the mp3's. After
which I backed it up. So after I deleted the previously mentioned items, I
tried for the hundreth time to up load the web. Oddly enough it posted as
normal.

I find this strange, the mp3's were on the web for over two weeks. I have
made maybe a dozen subsiquent changes and reposted the web each time without
a hitch. But this is the only timely and meaningful change I had made that
could make any kind of sense.

Thanks for trying to help.

Your error was probably caused by a file size over 1MB
- a known issue w/ FP

The "nonsensical" 1st step would have told you that
