System Errors

Hello,

I am running an Active Directory Windows 2000 Network with
about 60 clients. Half of the clients are Win2K Pro and
the other half are WinXP Pro. All the machines log into
the domain and use a logon script. I have noticed
recently that when the script runs and maps network
drives, it displays the error message: "System Error 85
has occurred. Local Device Name already in use" Then the
script continues to run. Once logged in, all mapped
drives are present and appear to work properly. I can
read and write to them. I also have one machine that
shows "System Error 67 has occurred - Network Name Cannot
be Found". It will not map that drive at all, but if I go
into Windows Explorer I can manually map that drive and
get it to work.

Any idea why I am getting these error messages and how can
I get them to stop?

THanks for your time.

I have noticed that if I disconnect the mapped drives and
then log out and log back in, the script runs without
error. But if the drives are not disconnected, I get the
error 85 everytime. Is this normal? Should I just ignore
it as everything seems to work fine error or no error.

this is why you need net use /persistent:no command.

Have you put the net use lpt1: /delete in the loginscript before the line
where you connect to the printer?
