NET USE does not work for WebDAV Resources

Though it is documented that WebDAV resources can be
mapped to a drive, on Windows 2000 client machines it does
not work using the NET USE * http://fileserver/share.

I've WebDAV configured on Windows 2003 server that I can
map successfully on Win XP using NET USE command, but when
I run the same command on Windows 2000 machine, I receive
the following error message

"System error 67 has occurred. The network name cannot be
found."

I know that the mapping can be done using the Windows
Explorer as well, but I need to use the command line so
that I can include it in the Login Script.

Please help.

Many Thanks

The Windows 2000 NET USE command does not support HTTP WebDav folders, this is due to the fact that SSL is enabled on WebDav folders. There is a external program that will map a drive to a WebDav folder - NetDrive. It is a utility from Novell and does allow you to map a drive letter to WebDav folders. I don't think this will help in your case since you need something to run via the login script, but it may be worth checking out. It does allow you have the drive mapped upon startup of the system automatically.
