Each time I close Powerpoint, I received a message "Microsoft Visual Basic.
System Error &H8000FFFF (-2147418113). Catastrophic failure." I tried
re-starting Powerpoint it still didn't worked. I get the same error message.
I am using Office 2000.
Grateful for any help/advise.

This is a tough one. It seems to be a general "Office" issue (I see it
happening in Excel and Word, too). Try posting this in the Office newsgroup.

I don't know the cause, but if it were happening to me, I'd start PPT then
choose Help, Detect & Repair and let it do its thing.

Hi Steve

I tried your recommendation but it did not work. After the repair, I tried
to close the PPT application and I still got the same message. Let me know
if you have other suggestions. I will give it a try.

I had this problem in Word. I had added a macro to VBA that day, which worked fine. Then I closed down Word, and saved global changes to the Normal template, as prompted. When I reopened Word and tried to run any macros that message popped up. I deleted the macro and everything went back to normal. I have copied the macro back into VBA again and everything seems fine so far.
