I have this same erorr occurring in Excel 2007 whe attempting to import an
excel file into a MOSS2007 list. I know others have posted on verious sites
they have the same issue. However no one has given a solution that seems to
work.

In my case it started happening afer the "SP2" update for WSS 3.0 and MOSS
2007.
Here is what happens"
Opend MOSS 2007 Create List site >> Select Import from Spreadsheet.
Name new list >> click browse for spreadsheet >> select spreadsheet and get
this:
system Error &H80004005(-2147467259)

Click the X or OK and get this:

Visual Basic (Dialog box)
"Out of memory"
Click OK

Microsoft Visual Basic opens

Click Close

Microsoft Visual basic dialog box opens
"The comand will stop the debugger"
Click OK

and it all closes and I cannot import Excel spreadsheet into the list.

On other machines it works fine, those do not have any developer tools or vb
on them.

Does anyone have any input on this other than the resution for 2000 office
products? I hava attempted those and they do not resolve the issue.

Thanks

Same issue here. SP 2007 import spreadsheet function fails. My error sequence is a bit different though:

1) MS VB Error: system Error &H80004005(-2147467259) unspecified error
2) MS VB Error: out of memory
3) MS VB Error: this command will stop the debugger
4) MS IE Error: an unexpected error has occured. (-2147352567)

#2 seems weird to me as I have 2GB of RAM and have never experienced this before so I'm wondering why this error would appear trying to import a 200KB spreadsheet. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Thanks,

J
