System error due to kmixer.sys

While playing Pool of Radiance Ruins of Myth Drannor, on a Windows XP Home
Edition SP2 Dell 4700, a friend of mine started getting serious system errors
with kmixer.sys noted as the problem. The screen goes to the "blue screen of
death" and freezes. Has a difficult time rebooting. I know this is limited
info but is there anyone out there who might be able to suggest anything to
me. I believe this is some type of registry problem or the audio drivers
but I don't know which direction to turn to. The drivers are the latest
release. The game manufacturer was of no help. Help, please?

You need to post the STOP code (begins with 0x000...) and/or the error name
(LOOKS_LIKE_THIS) from the blue screen.
