System Doesn't Recognize Numeric Keypad

A Dell computer running Windows 2000 Professional doesn't
recognize the numeric key pad on any keyboard. At first I
thought it was the keyboard but have discoverd, after
multi keyboard switcharounds, that it is the computer. Any
suggestions? Thanks.
