system crash need to format

In the middle of downloading updates got denial of attack
or something and system rebooted. Now half of my
programs don't work and I want to format and reinstall
but have upgrade xp and 98 if I attempt to reinstall xp
will it accept 98se cd as acceptable to load. Jim

Yes it will. Run the XP setup and it will get to the
point that it will ask for a CD to prove you own one of
the upgradable versions of Windows. Put your 98SE CD in
and click OK.

If you have a legitimate Win98SE CD then Yes, you can.
