System Config Utility

Hi:

Under services, there are a lot of boxes checked. How does one know which
ones to keep checked? I have Symantec (NIS 2007) on my system & a Dell Tech
unchecked some LiveUpdate applications. A Symantec tech said that would
affect my automatic live update. Are there defaults that one can resort to?

The services you have also depend on what Apps you have installed, as they
too can install services.
Generally you are best not to touch them unless you know exactly what you
are doing.
Stopping a service can impact on other services and apps

Presumably you had some problem which is why you contacted Dell tech?

You can get more information about the processes at
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/. You probably will have a few more
than what is there but at least it is a start. You would have to decide
which you need and which you don't need. It is better to uncheck
one-at-a-time with a reboot after each.
