Interspersed below I've identified each item. I'd guess that the blanked
out items are ones like *"Promon.exe"="Promon.exe"* that don't include
the full path? To see these try SysInternals Autoruns

icon in the System Tray called the HP Toolbox which enables the end-user
to do various things such as cleaning the heads, aligning the heads,
checking the ink level, etc...
Recommendation :
Essential under most versions of Windows – leave alone. Under Windows
2000/XP, however, it is no longer essential to printing as, as long as
the “Print Spooler†service is enabled (which it always is by
default), printing to the printer will be fine. It then becomes a
matter of preference as to whether you want to have the HP Toolbox in
your System Tray or not. If you choose to disable it, you can do so
with The Ultimate Troubleshooter."

The only thing that jumps out at me is "NvCplDaemon", which looks like
support for a video card that has since been replaced.
Hope you can make sense of the above.
Thanks in advance.

I’m trying to sort through all the accumulated dreck that runs at startup.
When I click on the Startup tab of the System Configuration Utility a see a
number of lines where absolutely nothing appears in the “Startup Item†and
“Command†columns, but the line is checked to run at startup. The “Locationâ€
column says:
“HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.â€
Any ideas what these mystery items are, and whether or not it’s safe to
uncheck them.
More info is needed.
Paste the following line into the Run box (eg. START> Run...)
reg export HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
"%userprofile%\desktop\hklm_run.txt"
(above is all one line)
Copy the contents of hklm_run.txt into your next message.
