System Config and Regedit

I have a client who just ran the MS Worm Patch and when
tring to run the System Configuration Utility
(msconfig.exe) or Regedit it just flashes then it closes.

I would guess that something else is going on.

Reboot to safe mode and try to open regedit and msconfig. If they work
fine, then something loading in the background is killing these.

Also, try opening something easy from the run line like
calc

There was probably more than one worm on the system. I'm not sure, but I
think it's the W32Spyh worm that disables msconfig and regedit. A client
had the same problem, and a "Repair Install," fixed it.
