On startup I have to press F1 to continue from "CMOS checksum error- Defaults

reverts to Tue Jan 1 2002 12:01am. I am running XP Home 5.1.2600 SP1 with

Replace the CMOS battery, normally located on your motherboard. Normally a
"2032" type.

Not an XP problem. Appears to be a hardware problem. Replace your
motherboard battery.

As the other posts say replace the motherboard battery but also **BEFORE**
doing that enter your BIOS and write down any settings there in case they
get lost so you can reenter them- or the next post may be 'what settings
should I put in my BIOS- my computer won't work after changing the battery'.
An easy way is to use a digital camera to record the screen settings.
