System can not detect network adapter

I am running XP sp2 in my laptop. I had some virus problem recently
which is now thankfully resolved.

Now i can not connect to internet as my system don't detect any
network adapter.

Please can someone help me??

Have you rebooted the system ?

yes i did a number of times. I've also restored my system to a later
date but it didn't help.

Try running WinsockFix and LSPfix.

I'm also having the same problem, my PC totally can't detect the network
adapter (it also disappear from my Device Manager) which built-in with my
motherbroad, and its flashlight totally off. I faced this problem after I
helped my friend to backup his files into my PC before he reformat his PC
which infected with virus. Is it my PC has infected with virus as well? Any
idea?

PLEASE HELP !!!!
