system boot failure on startup, requires system disk

[semi-stiffy]

on startup i get an error that reads "system boot error,
please insert system disk". after i insert it
says "ATAPI CD-ROM not emulated". after that it reads a
file and starts up normal. if anyone could provide some
help it would be appreciated

bios boot sequence set incorrectly ,try hard drive as

first boot choice
