System 32

Tom Gibbons

I recently had a problem that caused me to reformat my hard drive and
reinstall Windows XP and SP-2.

My problem now is that when I boot up, the first screen I see is System 32.
I can just close that screen and I am then on my desktop.

I don't know how to stop the System 32 from showing up.

TIA

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by
an incomplete program removal, in the
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys. It can also
be caused by an entry in these same keys that starts with a " / ."
