system 32 error on startup

Previously posted getting this error message on startup

C:\WINDOWS\system32\br_rt.dll
The specified module could not be found.

DL replied to my question (thanks DL) and suggested that I am or have been
infected with malware and to clean my PC.

So, I've done that got rid of all the stuff that it found, but this error is
still showing up on startup!

This is obviously something the PC needs so can anyone tell me how do I get
this module back onto my computer so that I can get rid of this error message.

Can anyone also please gve me their thoughts on Norton PC-Cillin? This
computer is only a week old and I installed this security program before I
first went on line. After seeing all the spyware and malware and viruses
that were detected on this computer, I was pretty shocked that the security
program had not blocked them or at least quarantined them!

Should I be looking at a different Security Program?

Hi Alatriel,

It sounds like the file has been removed but not the entry in the registry
(or elsewhere) that instructs the file to be loaded or verified at startup.

Since you may also have remnants of other malware, I would highly recommend
registering and posting at a forum that is dedicated to malware information
