system 32 error message

Hello. We have Outlook 2003 installed on our computer. Everytime we open it,
we get the following error message: The application or
DLL:c\windows\system32\jgvnqu.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check
this against your installation diskette.

This error message pops up for every application that is running on the
computer at the time - maybe 10 or 12 items. I have run all the updaters for
all MicroSoft product installed on our computer. I even re-installed Outlook,
but the same error occurs. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Sounds like an OS issue if the message pops up for every application you have
open. Do you have your O/S disk and license key? You may want to run a repair
but if I were you, I'd ask in the appropriate newsgroup if you need to do
anything first or what suggestions they have. Of course you want to ensure
you have good backups before doing anything.

If you're running Windows XP, do a system restore to when it was last
working correctly. Again, ask in the appropriate O/S newsgroup first.

Can you check the properties of that file? Do you get any information
what it is?

I suspect some malware; have you recently scanned your system for
viruses, tojans, spyware?

You added some add-in that uses jgvnqu.dll and have uninstalled it later and
Outlook can't tell. Try deleting the (hidden) file %UserProfile%\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat and trying again.
