Sysprep problems

aI'm a new administrator at a school district. We order our software as part
of a state licensing program. Recently, I purchased Windows XP SP2 media and
200 VLA licenses. I'm having problems getting sysprep to work. The error is
"there is an incompatability between this tool and the current operating
system" followed by "unable to continue". I'm puzzled as the setup manager
and sysprep tools come from the same disk that I'm using to install. I
downloaded the newest version of the support tools from the MS website but
the dates are the same on the files and so is the problem. Has anyone ever
seen this before and can anyone offer suggestions? Without these tools we're
in a rough spot.

The 'server' service is not running. There are serveral reasons why this
might be true, the most common one being the failure to activate the "File
and Print Sharing" protocol.
