Sysprep: Keep settings

T

Thomas

Hello

I have used Setup Manager and Sysprep for a little while
now and there is a few bugs that is a bit annoying;

- Let's say I first install Windows 2000 from scratch on a
computer. When it is fully installed with all the drivers
it can find on the win2k CD - it still lacks some drivers
for some units - let's say the NIC and the audio card.
This is okay since I can find the drivers on the Internet
and install them. Everything works fine.

Then I run Setup Manager and sysprep.bat and make an image
of it. Up until now there is no problems.

But when I load the image onto another computer (exactly
the same - or so it seems - computer) these two drivers
can't be found. It is kind of no problem since I have
placed these two drivers in C:\drivers, but I would like
everything to go smooth :)

Is this an actual problem or might this just be on this
exact computer model? I haven't tested it really
thouroughly.

Another problem is the 30 second rule when choosing
operating system in boot process. I have set this to 2
seconds before running sysprep, but it is always set back
to 30 seconds.

And a third problem is; I usually set the CD-ROM drive to
Z:.. this seems to always be set back to D: (or the first
available station)..

Maybe all of these have the same solution? Or maybe there
isn't a solution? Or maybe I am just simply doing
something wrong :)

Any inputs? :)
