Sysprep issue

Is this an "industry acceptable" technique?

When replacing an existing Windows 2000 PC with a new PC
I perform the hardware upgrade by using Sysprep and Ghost to transfe
an image of the old PC to the new replacement PC.

I know the restrictions of moving an image to a different PC model
Assuming that I am very familar with the use of Sysprep is this metho
an "industry acceptable" technique?

Thanks in advance for your input

I would appreciate the opinions of others on this question. Current
rules in my workplace forbid this method of replacing a Windows 2000
PC.

I contend that starting with Sysprep version 1.1, this is one of the
purposes of Sysprep.

What are your opinions?
