Sysprep is killing my settings

Need some help from the sysprep masters...

I've loaded my system up from scratch, etc, etc. Trying to make an
image of it, but every time I do, many of the settings are not there
when the image is pulled back down.

I have to append several DNS suffixes on the initial load, but those
never survive the sysprep. Same thing for proxy settings on the
dialup setups and several other things.

Is there any way to make an exact duplicate image so that I don't
have
to go in and edit settings every time an image is pulled to a new
machine? Other tools out there better than sysprep?

This is really getting frustrating.

When you arte in 'sysprep -factory -noreboot' mode, you can take a look at
the registry to see what is not being written.

You will probably find something in:

HH
mk:@MSITStore:C:\Documents%20and%20Settings\Administrator\My%20Documents\Deploy\ref.chm::/w_winbom_deploy.htm
(assumes "Administrator" expanded i386/Deploy.CAB to My Documents)
