Hi, I am running Windows XP (Home) and after logging on I keep getting the
subjext error message with the following text - "The application failed to
initialize properly (oxc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application".
Can anyone help me with this? Thanx in advance

Sysmonitor.exe may be a tool supplied by Acer on Acer computers. Do you
have an Acer computer? If so, do clean-boot troubleshooting to determine
which tool is involved. You can then choose to either not have the tool
run, uninstall/reinstall, or contact Acer tech support.

As always, you should ask yourself The First Question Of
Troubleshooting: what changed between the time things worked and the
time they didn't?

Here are links about doing clean-boot troubleshooting:

I think you are infected with the W32 DesktopHijack V, make sure your
machine is clean by scanning and if the cleaning didn't help post back with
your OS specs:
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.
For Malwares download both these software:

Run a scan from here online:

Download Avast Cleaner from here:

Lots of tools to download and disinfect your machine:

Download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of many
forums for analysis and troubleshooting:
When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,

forums for expert analysis, not here.
Run disk Clean Up and Defrag in safe mode, then Open run command and type in:
sfc /scannow click [OK]
Note the space between sfc_/

Let us know.
