Hi,
My Sys Tray bar at the bottom of my desktop is too long, meaning there
are lots of contents.
I need to maintain these contents, however, I want to make the bar short
(may be with expansion arrow) to allow other bars fully visible.
Anybody knows how to do that?

Which part are you talking about? The system tray (the section with the
clock). If so, I do not believe the size of this can be adjusted (hence the
feature in XP that allows you to hide icons and have it shrink). If it's
really that long, then chances are you have a lot of unnecessary nonsense
running on your computer. Use something like this,
http://www.jsiinc.com/subf/tip2600/rh2620.htm, to get rid of any of the
stuff that isn't necessary. And/or check each of the application settings
to see if there's an option to NOT display an icon in the system tray. For
some reason, every Joe who makes software these days thinks that his
software is the most important thing on the OS and needs a system tray icon

I hv seen an arrow on XPP which can widen or shrink the sys tray bar.

I am looking for such kind of facility W2K.

These applications are set by our administrator, therefore, I could not get
rid of them.

Place the mouse cursor at the top edge of the taskbar so it turns into a
doubleended arrow. Press the left mouse button and move the top of the
Taskbar up. As the height increases to twice the original height the
System tray will decrease to 1/2 it's original length.

Why not just hide the icons in the tray area? Take a look at PS Tray
