SyncToy Window Opens at Startup

Any idea why a SyncToy window opens at Startup for one of the users on my
machine?

check the startup folder, of that user, on the start menu to see if it's in
there.
or log on as that user and check the settings on sync to see if it has
something that would cause it to start up.

I too have this problem. I loaded synctoy on four machines recently. Three of
them have multiple user accounts and run XP Home edition and one of them has
just the primary user account and runs XP Pro. All have SP2 and most recent
updates. The machine with just one user works just fine. All three other
machines exhibit this problem. Only one of them has it occur on the account
on which the program was installed (ie the primary user), the other two have
it on my "Dad's" logon. (It's my children's machines that have the problem).
I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it from another account but it
still pops up on the same account. Have looked at "Autoruns" and msconfig and
can find nothing to suggest it is being invoked by anything. The folder that
pops up is C:\Program files\Microsoft\synctoy. If I uninstall synctoy then it
stops occuring, but then he uninstall removes that folder so that is hardly
surprising. My guess is that this is a bigger problem than might first be
thought and is only seen where multiple login accounts exist on a Machine.

I think we'll have to hope someone at MS reads these posts as there won't be
a simple end user fix to this I don't think.

Apart from tis niggle - what a utility! Works just fine for me and my family
for backing up to a network drive.
