Synctoy via FTP

Synctoy is excellent. So good I even took the time to blog about it
http://geekswithblogs.net/nightdrive/archive/2006/02/23/70489.aspx (and
I don't often blog).

However...

FTP support is lacking.
Even if built in FTP isn't present, I would at least expect it to work
with an FTP site manually put into 'My Network Places', but even this
doesn't work. It makes a bit a mockery of the 'My Network Places'
feature, which I would assume is supposed to make an FTP site or some
other URL behave like it's on the local filesystem.

This is a really important feature, especially with many web hosts
offering unlimited storage for very little money. FTP provides an
excellent off-site backup, even if it's not run as frequently as the
hard disk to hard disk, or pc to pc backups.

I eagerly await 1.3!

I would also like to see the option to sync over FTP. Both my parents and my
stepparents use digital cameras and are beginning to build a pretty
exstensive collection of photos. I've been looking for a way to make it easy
for them to upload and sync their photos via the net onto my harddrive for
backup purposes. Neither of them are much into computers so it would be great
if I could set up Synctoy at their computers, having them FTP:ing up their
photos to my FTP server by just clicking "Run".

Cheers,
Christian
