SyncToy Scheduling

I'm using SyncToy to synchronize files between PCs on my home network (and to
have the files in 2 locations for redundancy). It works great when I run it
manually but it fails from the task scheduler with result (0xA). The
synctoylog.log shows:

Exception: Showing a modal dialog box or form when the application is not
running in UserInteractive mode is not a valid operation. Specify the
ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification
from a service application.

I tried SyncToy 2.0 Beta but I get the same result. Can anyone help me with
this as I really need to have SyncToy run on a regular schedule. Thank you.

Bump

I have exactly the same problem. Does anyone have a solution?

First, are you using the -R argument with it; second, do you have a password
on your user account?

If you don't have a user password most, if not all, manually added tasks
will not run properly.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I should've been more specific. I think I've actually somewhat worked out
the reason why it doesn't work, but there's not much I can do about it. It
seems to want to run as an interactive user, the currently logged-in user.
The problem with this is that I want the backups to run as a different user -
one that's set up just for backups, so that the password never changes. If I
schedule the task as the currently logged-in user it runs fine. I'm using
synctoycmd -R.

cheers
James
