i have scheduled SyncToy to run hourly. But, it seems not work. In event log,
it shows "Exception: It is invalid to show a modal dialog or form when the
application is not running in UserInteractive mode. Specify the
ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification
from a service application.
". what can i do to fix it ?

Hello Nobi,

I'm unfamiliar with those exceptions. Are you using the windows scheduler?
If not, it may be that the scheduler you are using requires a setting to
allow SyncToy to display a form when scheduled.

I hope this helps...

George,

I'm getting the same error using the Windows Scheduler. Judging by the
error it could because I was not logged onto the desktop when Synctoy kicked
off. I suspect that if Synctoy had a "silent mode" which didn't interact
with the desktop the issue could be prevented. The help file doesn't mention
a silent mode. Does one exist?

George,

In My environment, the same error occurs, as Greg describes below.
I defined a Scheduled Task to run SyncToy. This task runs fine in an active
console session, as well on a locked desktop.
However, is no one is logged in, SyncToy generates an error in the
Application Event Log:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: SyncToy
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1
Date: 19-10-2005
Time: 12:21:03
User: N/A
Computer: TEST01
Description:
Exception: It is invalid to show a modal dialog or form when the application
is not running in UserInteractive mode. Specify the ServiceNotification or
DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service
application.
