Upgrading from Office 2002 (XP) to Office 2003
Mailbox INbox (on exchange server was syncronized to the OST on exiting)

After Upgrade, Syncronization only happens when selecting "This Folder" from
send / recieve button.
Does not syncronize automatically on exit anymore.

I thought there was an issue with the OST. Deleted it.
Did not re-create the OST automatically when exiting
Had to select "This Folder" manually to get Outlook to create the OST.

Thought that using Exchange mode would help but when i select the check box,
and exit, then when i go back it is unchecked.

1. Why don't the syncronization happen when exiting automatically anymore?
2. Why when I select Exchange mode option does it not remain checked when I
apply/save/close/exit and then later return?

Thanks

By Exchange mode, I presume you mean Cached Mode?
Disable it. Exit Outlook. Make sure you've deleted whatever OST file you
were using.
Re-enable Cached Mode (you can do this in control panel, mail -properties of
your profile).
Open Outlook. Does it recreate the cache successfully?
You no longer need the send/receive stuff for syncing to your OST file if
you use Cached Mode, note. It's supposed to happen automatically.
