synchronizing folders

I'm really new to outlook 2003 and am attempting to send first multiple email
newsletter via Bcc. I inserted my address into the to:.... all the
recipients in Bcc. It shows 18% - synchronizing folders - and doesn't appear
to send messages. The newsletter is still in my outbox. Reviewed the other
messages and I followed the advice about eliminating all the inbox messages
in the isp mailbox. Didn't help. Any suggestions?
Also, is there a method of determining if any of the messages were sent?
I tried the mail merge as well, but receive a message reading: There are no
active recipients available to perform this operation. Check the recipient
list to include/exclude recipients.
Appreciate any help - I'm at wits end.

How many addresses are you talking about? How big is the newsletter?
