Synchronized Combo boxes on a continuous form?

Is this doable? I have two combo boxes on a subform that gets displayed as a
continuous form. But I can't synchronize them because everytime a new
record is added, and the first combo box selection is made, the requery
command runs on the AfterUpdate event of that combo box and then ALL the
combo boxes on the continuous form requery themselves. So if it's possible,
what am I doing wrong? Thx!

I posted an example of one way to fix the problem in another forum. It uses
bound textboxes to overlay the text part of the combo. The forms have
comments on them so you can see how the technique works.
