I have a blackberry device 7290 and am able to check POP mail without a
problem. I would like to be able to synchronize my Outlook calendar
with my Blackberry wirelessly.

I am using outlook to check the same pop mail account. No Exchange
server here. I would like for my secretary to be able to add an event
in my calendar and have it update in my blackberry. I don't want to
have to go to my computer and sync up.

Is this possible? Everything i find points me to the BES which i can't
run.

I have seen something called "redirector" software mentioned here and
there. Will that give me a solution?

Thanks
Brad

You can run the Blackberry desktop redirector on your computer, but without
Exchange, it isn't going to do much.

Without Exchange, all you can really do is

a) sync your pwn calendar/contacts/tasks/whatnot to your BB when
cradled/cabled
b) have your mail forwarded to your BB email address via a rule

You might consider moving to a hosted Exchange service that offers
Blackberry support.

Thanks. That is kinda what i gathered from reading the blackberry site
but wanted to be sure.

Can you recommend a site that offers the exchange services you
described?

I'm not sure where you're located, but I've heard good things about
Mailstreet for hosted Exchange, and they may also have BES.

You might try posting in microsoft.public.exchange.admin to see if anyone
else has any suggestions for hosted Exchange & Blackberry services.
