synchronize 4 GB ost

Help good people!

I have user travelling user with 4GB of Pst. He is currently using offiline
synchronising but that doesn't work well in the sense that it takes quite a
while synchronize when he logs on/off. He goes ahead and cancels the sync
process and whole other issues occur including his pst not been available
and etc. Since he is the top executive of the company I can't tell him to
be more patient. I am looking for other alternatives. One of them is to
move all the emails to his inbox and have an ost.

Now here is my problem:

I have not delt with big mailbox sizes and .ost so can any one advise if:
1- Exchange inbox access access will be any slower with the large content.
2 - ost synchronization would be any faster then .pst offline synch.

3- If this is not a good solution, what other solutions could I try?

Outlook 2002 on XP machine

Sorry, since I posted this query I went out for a holiday.

I told him many times but he is impatient and wanted another solution. The
biggest problem is not him cancelling the sync process but the end result of
cancelling where number of copies get created and his pst not being
available.
