How do I synchronise between my hotmail address on the internet and windows
mail. It said this facility was available but I dont know how to do it.
It would be so useful to access my emails when we have power cuts and my
broadband goes down. Power cuts are frequent in Zimbabwe sometimes 4 times a
day and sometimes out for 3 days so to have all my emails in mail would be so
useful.

That means you want the emails downloaded to your computer, so
afterwards you can read them even when your Internet connection goes down?
The POP3 protocol will allow you to do just that.
Microsoft recently enabled POP access for free Hotmail/Live accounts.
Follow the settings given here:
http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry
Use port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.

Although it accepts the newer Live.com addresses, Windows Mail's
account setup wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail and MSN addresses.
So, when you enter your Hotmail/MSN email address initially, use a fake
one, such as (e-mail address removed). After the account setup is complete,
go back and correct your email address.
