synchronising outlook

How can I synchronise outlook; between laptop and desktop; one runs office
prof. the other -standard?
 
Thanks Russ,
I figured out the core of the problem. Somehow I had deleted the option
"Contacts" as address book.....Reinstallation did the trick. cheers
