I have a simple file and print sharing network set-up between two machines,
one running Windows '98 SE and the other running Windows Xp home, I have a
shared drive on the '98 machine that contains all my regularly used files. Is
there any way I can get XP to automatically synchronise this drive with a
folder on it's own HDD, thereby effectively creating a backup of the drive on
th '98 machine?

There are several ways to achieve that. One fairly nice way is
to use robocopy, which is a Windows XP Resource Kit tool.

Is that free to download?

If so where would I get it from?

Actually I'm not sure. You'll have to find out. Check
www.microsoft.com .

Does anybody else know where to get the Resource Kit? Sorry for
this one of many holes in my knowledge.
