Sync calendar and contacts on multiple machines

I have a desktop and a few laptops, and I'd like to keep my contacts and
calendar sync'ed on all of em.

I have been using Yahoo's calendar/contact service, but the app seems to
flake out on some of my systems.

Is there something folks out there use?

I have, but I figured there are some web services that can do this, like
Yahoo...

Does anyone know of any?

The robust solution is to use Exchange, but that may not be practical
for you. Have you considered getting a PDA and using that both as a pocket
PC and also to sync your calendar/contacts between your machines?
