Sync BCM via internet

Is it possible to sync BCM via an internet connection? I am a former GoldMine
user and could sync BCM with the server using port 5993. How can I do this
with BCM, as my office is remote, and I need updated contact information
hourly.

ricky,

I have put my BCM database on a sbs server. I connet to my sbs server
through vpn. Outlook with bcm on my remote computer can be
synchronized as often as i want. if you have a fast connection then
you can be online with your database from any remote location.
I do not know how to do this without a sbs server.

thanks

ricky:

You can setup any PC to act as the BCM server, not just an SBS. It needs a
VPN connection and once you connect, BCM will see the database and sync or
connect.

After you setup the VPN and connect, go into Create or Select a Database in
BCM, enter the name of the PC hosting the master database, and click the
Connect button. BCM will show you a list of databases on that server in the
dropdown below. Choose yours and click Next.

HTH,
Lon

Can BCM sync be done any other way. e.g. email packets the way ACT! syncs?
Doesn't VPN require a separate login sequence?
