Symmetric memory configuration

is there any advatnage of using symmetric memory configuration in laptop?
I.e. 2GB (1 +1Gb), 4Gb (2+ 2Gb) rather than 3Gb (1 + 2 Gb)? Laptop support
4Gb max.

Depends on the laptop, contact the manufacturers tech support staff for
the answer regarding your model.
