Off Topic File sizes

Does any one know the reason for different file Sizes that can be uses
on a PVR, I have one that has 4GB (Default) 3GB, 2GB and 1GB


My Big question is WHY..?

Well only sold in NZ, but other PVR's use the same options from searches
on the net but don't explain why.


Most if not all PVR's sold here are special as we use a modified DVB-T
so brand names don't mean much.

That's why.

FAT32 is limited to 4GB per file. The unit has to break up larger
recordings into 4GB files.

But if you plan to copy them onto a 2GB flash drive or something, then you
must set it to make the parts smaller.
