Symbols

I am trying to insert a symbol, but can't seem to get it to work. I go to
the 'Insert ' menu and click on 'Symbol', but nothing happens. I am using MS
Word 2003. Any ideas?

On the Help menu, click "Detect and Repair". You may need to have the
original CD available.

If that doesn't help, see the part in
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm about
starting Word with the /a switch, and if that works, then look for a
damaged template or add-in.

Thanks! I will try that...tomorrow, when I'm a little more awake. I will
