Symbols are not appearing properly

I'm running Office 2003 on a Server 2003 Terminal Server. We have several
word documents that contain black boxes and white boxes (like checkboxes)
which were created with symbols. On our 2K terminal servers these documents
show perfectly. On regular fat client pcs they show as they should. On the
2003 terminal server clients, the black boxes show as the letter "v" and the
white boxes show as the bold letter "p". I need to know the cause and the
cure. I'll settle for the cure.

Do you have the same font installed on the 2003 server?

I should have the same fonts and the same installation on all machines. I do
notice, that the symbol sets are using different fonts on different machines
when viewing the same document.

I was trying to imply the solution while i asked that question. Anyhow find
the font name on 2k terminal servers and see if you have the same font
installed on 2003 termina server, If not then obvously you need to install
it.
